He sustained multiple injuries and there was nothing that paramedics could do to save the man's life.

It is understood from bystanders that the man apparently clipped a passing motor vehicle whilst traveling on 14th Avenue towards Roodepoort. After allegedly clipping the motor vehicle, the man lost control over his bike and collided with the rear of a bakkie at an intersection throwing him off his bike onto the tarmac. A women in the bakkie was treated for minor injuries on the scene.

ER24 also attended to numerous collisions on the N3 and N1 highway. A three car pile-up on the N1 between Allandale and New Roads left a woman injured. She sustained possible spinal injuries and had to be transported to a nearby hospital for further medical management.

Three security guards were also injured on the N1 North after Allandale when the vehicle they traveled in collided with a vehicle in front of them.

Another tow truck driver has also been injured on the N3 highway near Marlboro. Paramedics responded to an incident at the London Bridge on the N3 and found a two car pile-up. A woman was injured in this collision. She was treated for cuts on her head and face.

Moments later ER24 received notification of an incident less than 500 meters north on the N3 of the previous collision. On arrival paramedics found a tow truck that overturned several times and landed in the middle of the highway on its side. The driver sustained more serious injuries and he was treated on the scene. A female passenger in the truck sustained minor injuries.

As paramedics departed the incident from the tow truck, another call was received for an incident again on the N3. This time approximately one kilometer north from the current incident.

Paramedics found a bakkie that overturned and was lying on its side next to the highway. Two people were injured in this collision. The driver and his passenger sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.

Fire fighters had to use the jaws of life to cut parts of the bakkie away from the man in order to free him quickly. The man was placed on life support equipment once he was out of the vehicle and paramedics utilized all of their knowledge and skills to save the man's life.

After almost an hour trapped in his bakkie, the man was freed and rushed off to Sandton Medi-Clinic for further medical management.
