Three Injured in Late Night Crash

Three people were injured on Friday night in a serious collision on the corners of Rinyani and Landhuis Streets in Allen's Nek.

A white Citi Golf carrying two young male occupants were involved in a crash with a white VW Golf II when one of the vehicle's allegedly skipped the stop street.

When paramedics arrived on the scene, they found both of the vehicles partially through a fence of a house situated on the corners. Paramedics quickly noticed that two of the occupants were trapped in their vehicles and the Fire Department had to be called in.

The driver of the VW Golf II - who recently moved up from Cape Town to Johannesburg - sustained serious chest injuries and was trapped in his vehicle. The Fire Department from Station 20 had to use the jaws-of-life to rescue the trapped man. A second rescue had to be conducted with the jaws-of-life on the other Golf to rescue the trapped passenger. The driver of the Citi Golf were found outside of his vehicle. Both of the occupants of the Citi Golf sustained multiple injuries.

The driver of the Golf II was transported by ER24 to Helen Jospeh Hospital in a stable condition. The remainder of the patients were transported to Life Flora and Olivedale Clinic by ER24 and Netcare.

The exact cause for the accident is not known and the JMPD's Accident Investigation Unit attended the scene.
