Silicone blamed for crash
Two people have sustained injuries this afternoon when their vehicle they were travelling in overtuned on the Maraisburg bends and rolled into a veld next to the road. The 37 year old male passenger of the vehicle sustained serious injuries to his right leg
and had to be rescued from the wreck by paramedics. The 33 year old male driver of the vehicle sustained multiple lacerations to his head and arms.
According to the driver of the vehicle they were returning from a car wash in Maraisburg when the accident occurred. The driver strongly believes that the silicone that was applied to his wheels (to make it shine) was the cause for his vehicle to slide. The exact cause for the accident could not be determined as no witnesses were prepared to comment on scene.
Fortunately there were no other vehicles involved and no one was walking in the veld.
