Structural Collapse

One person has been injured this morning after a building collapsed at the corners of Stanger and Pine Street. The side of the one story building collapsed onto the road, causing part of the busy road to be closed to traffic. When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they were directed to a patient that had been injured in the accident. The patient was treated for moderate to serious injuries and transported to a near by hospital for further treatment.

It is believed that the workers were busy renovating the building when the wall collapsed. Out of the three workers only the one was injured. SAPS Search and Rescue dog unit was called in to do a search of the area just in case of some one been entrapped underneath the rubble. No deaths were recorded at this scene.
