M7 Paralysed

A horrific collision has occurred on the M7 this morning, involving 10 cars

and 3 trucks. The accident took place at about 07h20 this morning during
peak hour. The cause of the accident is that a truck travelling on the M7
east bound may have had mechanical problems and was an able to stop. The
truck came down the freeway, colliding into anything that was in his way.

When paramedics arrived on the scene, they found over 10 cars scatted all
over the freeway. 2 trucks were still in the far left hand lane but had cars
stuck under them. Paramedic's hearts dropped, thinking this was another
Monday all over again said ER24 spokes person Derrick Banks. When we got
closer we found people were walking around and were in shock.

Over 20 people were assessed on the scene and were treated for shock; only 7
people had to be taken to hospital for further hospital treatment.

EMRS, Metro Police, Fire Department and RTI were in attendance.
