PT Cruiser Closes Highway
The M1 Highway at the Athol Oakland’s turn off was closed this evening at approximately 
18h00 due to a motor vehicle accident. A black PT Cruiser lost control and overtuned several times before it came to a stand still in the fast lane of the highway.
According to bystanders the Cruiser swerved across the highway long before it overturned. A 39 year old man was slightly injured and assessed by paramedics on scene.
Due to the severity of the accident the highway had to be closed and only the emergency lane was open for commuters. The road was covered in oil and debris from the vehicle. Fortunately no other vehicles were involved.
The highway was re-opened about an hour later.
