30 Accidents in Johannesburg

It is only the beginning of the Easter weekend and ER24 Emergency Services have attended to more than 30 accidents last night in and around Johannesburg.

Most of the accidents occurred between 19h00 and 23h00, the last accident was serviced about 05h00.

In the West Rand a total of four people have been killed so far and 11 critical after numerous accidents. The biggest accident that claimed four lives were at the Hendrik Potgieter Sasol Pinehaven where a six month baby was also killed in a head on collision.

Eight patients sustained severe injuries when their vehicles crashed in the Northern suburbs of Johannesburg. Another killed in Limpopo in another head on collision.

Most of the accidents involved overturned vehicles and single vehicle accidents.

The accident rate seen last night is quite unusual. We urge the public to drive safely on the roads, as this is only the beginning of the weekend and more than five people have been killed in our area alone.
