Thugs Drive Car Down Embankment

Two suspects were stopped in their tracks last night when they crashed a stolen vehicle down an embankment near the Diepkloof Interchange.

According to the owner of the vehicle, who attended the scene, he noticed his stolen vehicle driving passed him on the highway shortly after he reported it stolen at the police station from Orange Farm. The owner contacted the Metro Police and gave chase behind his vehicle. The Metro Police arrived shortly after. The owner explained that as the suspects allegedly tried to outrun the Metro Police, they lost control in the bend of the highway split and the car crashed through the armco barriers down an embankment.

The Johannesburg Fire Department arrived on the scene and noticed that the two suspects were injured. ER24 paramedics arrived moments after and treated the two suspects. One of the suspects were still trapped in the vehicle and the other was lying next to the driver's side. Both of the suspects sustained multiple injuries, but were in a stable condition.

Both of the suspects were arrested on the scene by Metro Police and taken into custody. An ER24 ambulance transported both of the suspects under police guard to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
