Driver dies in Crash

At approximately 01h15 this morning we attended to yet another fatality this weekend. In this accident, a 37 year old male was killed after his car overturned several times.

It appears that the man (driver) was thrown from the vehicle and suffered severe head injuries. He was declared dead on scene by ER24 paramedics. Another male (passenger) also sustained head injuries and was transported by Provincial Services to a nearby hospital.

According to the passenger of the vehicle, they were traveling on Dobsonville Road in the direction of Main Reef Road when the accident occurred. It appears that the driver lost control over his vehicle and the vehicle then collided with a lamppost on the opposite side of the road. The vehicle landed on the opposite side of the road in the side ditch. The road was not closed or obstructed.

The definite cause of the accident is unknown. The passenger did not state where they were headed before the accident.

Whilst paramedics were on scene assisting the passenger, the deceased's wife arrived on scene. She was severely traumatised and paramedics attended to her on scene.
