Seven injured - Driver Missing

Seven people were injured in a crash on the corners of Kilburn and Mouton Streets in Horison View, Roodepoort. The accident occurred at approximately 22h22.

According to an eyewitness on scene a security vehicle (Top Security) and a silver VW Jetta collided in the intersection. According to the witness the Jetta was traveling on Mouton Street in the direction of Ontdekkers and turned in front of the security vehicle which was travelling in the opposite direction at the time.

The security vehicle then allegedly collide with the passenger side of the Jetta and pushed the vehicle into a nearby cement dustbin.

Due to a joint effort between ER24, Netcare and Florida Park Fire Station all the patients were quickly stabilised and transported to various nearby hospitals.

Four people from Top Security were in the vehicle. Three of the occupants sustained multiple injuries and was transported by ambulance. The driver escaped with only minor injuries, his passengers were found outside of the vehicle when paramedics arrived. They were allegedly on their way to a nearby security site.

Three people in the Jetta sustained serious injuries and had to be cut from the car with the Jaws-of-Life and Hydraulic equipment. The driver of the Jetta sustained severe chest injuries and was found outside the vehicle when paramedics arrived. Paramedics assessed the driver and turned around to assess the other critical patients that was entrapped in the car. When paramedics returned to the driver, it was noticed that he had fled the scene. Metro Police questioned the family, but could not establish his whereabouts.

All of them sustained multiple injuries and possible fractures.
