Shooting at Lingerie Store
Yesterday morning at approximately 11h00, ER24 paramedics raced out to an armed robbery at the corners of Grey and Victoria street in the Durban City Centre. A lingerie store had been robbed & a shootout had ensued between the robbers and store security guards.
On arrival paramedics found one male who had sustained a gunshot wound to his head. He was lying in the shop critically injured and Advanced Life Support paramedics spent over 40 minutes stabilising the man who was placed on a ventilator and a drip at the scene. It is alleged that this male was one of a group of six males who attempted to rob the shop and he was hit in the cross fire. He was stabilized and transported through to Addington hospital in a critical condition under police guard.
His colleagues made their getaway empty handed and left this man to die.
SAPS attended the scene and are investigating the case.
