Millions of Damage in Lifestyle Blaze

On 12 March 2007 at approximately midnight, one of ER24's ambulances came across a structural fire when doing patrols in the Randpark Ridge area. The paramedics noticed flames from the building at the Life Style Centre on the corners of Beyers Naude and Ysterhout. The dispatch centre was immediately notified to inform the JHB Fire Department.

Within minutes the fire department arrived on scene. ER24 based three vehicles on scene ti ensure safety and treatment of injured firefighters. Three firefighters have been treated for slight smoke inhalation. They are all doing fine, but was assessed at intervals.

At 03h30 the firefighters were still busy on the scene. ER24 sponsored the firemen with much needed cold drinks from a nearby garage.

ER24 and NetCare remained on the scene to assist the somewhat [30] firefighters on scene if they needed medical attention.
